Andy Watson

Leading communications on the overdose crisis in B.C.

After working as a reporter for a number of publications, including the Ottawa Sun, Andy Watson shifted his career to the world of media relations and strategic and digital communications, working in sports communications for the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club, Western University and University of Victoria. Those jobs opened the door to act as the director of communications and marketing for several world lacrosse championship (2006, 2016). Following five years in government media relations, Watson is now the manager of strategic communications for the BC Coroners Service, leading communications on the overdose crisis in B.C. and serving as the agency’s spokesperson.
