BA Hon (History), Queen’s University
Olivia has an undergraduate degree in History along with a Certificate in Sexual and Gender Diversity from Queen’s University. The focus of her degree was primarily writing and researching women who have been forgotten in history. Her fervour for reporting began during the two year she spent at The Queen’s Journal, Queen’s student-run newspaper. There she covered campus and local news and moved on to become the Opinions Editor in her fourth-year. Topics that she covered that were of special interest were local women’s rights and topics of racism and sexism. She completed an investigative feature on women’s health care in Canada and is looking to continue with investigative journalism. Olivia is also completing a collaborative MA in African Studies alongside an MJ due to her interest and past work on the African diaspora.
