Biography
Caroline O’Neill is a journalist and educator who recently produced CTV’s Power Play with Vassy Kapelos from the network’s parliamentary bureau; there she secured two exclusive interviews with NATO’s secretary general, produced coverage of the 2022 so-called ‘Freedom Convoy,’ and field-produced U.S. President Joe Biden’s address to the House of Commons.
She was an instructor with the Bachelor of Media Production and Design (MPAD) during the 2023-2024 academic year through a limited term appointment.
O’Neill looks forward to teaching MPAD courses on writing, civics, and social media this academic year, in addition to her own studies. As an instructor, she is interested in the different ways the classroom can spark civic literacy and community engagement.
She was part of a team that won a 2024 Canadian Screen Award for Best Political News Program or Series, and she was nominated along with the Power Play team for the 2022 Canadian Screen Award for Talk Program or Series.
O’Neill is also an advisory committee member for the Mindtrust Leadership Development Program, which offers leadership training and opportunities to Ottawa youth.
