Biography

BA (Social Communication – Journalism), Centro Universitário Newton Paiva – Brazil

Diploma (Broadcast television/videography), Humber College – Canada

Bárbara was born and raised in Brazil. She has always enjoyed writing and that is the reason why she chose to pursue a career in journalism.

She has worked as a journalist in both Canada and Brazil in the research, production, editing, and broadcasting of media content for a variety of media platforms.

In Canada she worked as a news reporter for Omni Television in the Portuguese department, covering community events. She also worked at CTV Toronto in the research and archives department for 2 years.

Since returning to Brazil in 2012 Bárbara  has worked for TV Clube Band, one of the main broadcast networks in the state of São Paulo, and Rede Minas, a public broadcaster. In addition to her work in Brazil, she has maintained links to the Canadian journalist network, including an interview with Marcia Macmillan, for CTV News channel covering Brazilian current events

What Bárbara loves most about journalism is its storytelling qualities. She is particularly grateful for the places that she has had the privilege to visit and the people whose stories she has been able to tell through her writing.

In her free time Bárbara enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys singing and discovering new places.
