Cora Hansen

Biography

Cora graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University. While in journalism, she discovered an interest in data visualization as a tool of storytelling. Since graduating, she works in the federal government specializing in web communications and online service delivery. During this time, Cora took various courses in user experience (UX) design and research and is a certified UX Designer.

Currently, her research interests focus on the importance of plain language writing and accessibility in communications. How to effectively communicate data is an area she’d like to delve into in graduate school. This continued interest in data communications has led her to pursue a specialization in Data Science while at Carleton. When not in school or work, she is often in the good company of loved ones’ outdoors.
