Ben Jorgenson

Biography

Ben recently completed a BA Honours in English at the University of Saskatchewan, where he developed a curiosity in the way that popular forms of media throughout history have shaped the way people think, create, and live their lives. Combined with a keen interest in politics and current events, this inspired him to make the move to Ottawa to join Carleton’s MJ program. He is eager to learn more about the journalistic trade and work toward producing meaningful work about the critical issues shaping our lives — from the minute details of the everyday to the large structures of government and economy.

Ben is excited to get to know the city of Ottawa, as well as his peers in the MJ program. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, writing (his creative work has been published in several literary journals), watching and discussing sports, and listening to new music.
