Marjan Massoom

Biography

With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Ottawa (2025), Marjan developed a deep interest in the complexities of human behaviour. This curiosity led her to pursue journalism, where she could merge analytical thinking with compelling storytelling.

As a staff writer for The Fulcrum, the University of Ottawa’s English-language student news outlet, Marjan reported on a wide range of topics, including campus events, student life, and cultural issues. She is especially drawn to stories that amplify underrepresented voices and explore the intersections of identity, community, and social change.

Her background in psychology continues to inform her journalistic approach, bringing empathy and depth to her reporting. Now entering the Master of Journalism program at Carleton University, she looks forward to building on her experience and expanding her skills across various formats as she works towards becoming an impactful storyteller.
