Caelan Monkman

Biography

Caelan graduated with distinction from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Journalism and a minor in Music & Culture. During his time at TMU, he volunteered and worked at various student publications, including acting as the managing editor of CanCulture Magazine and the Arts & Culture Editor of The Eyeopener. Caelan is currently an Editorial Assistant for CBC News Network’s television programming.

Born and raised in Ottawa prior to moving to Toronto for his undergraduate degree, Caelan is excited to be returning home to do his MJ, hoping to take advantage of the local opportunities to pursue political journalism in Canada’s capital, while continuing to grow as a journalist interested in covering all sorts of topics ranging from the arts to international affairs.
