Biography

My MA research seeks to look at the role of hashtags as a method of disseminating dietary ideology. More specifically, I am interested how #glutenfree propagates the legitimization of this diet protocol. Are hashtags merely systematic organizational tools? Or are they also symbols in virtual language that denote entire ideologies? In short, I want to understand the narrative power of hashtags as an online linguistic tool.
