Biography

Savanah Patterson is a recent graduate of Carleton University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), focusing on English Literature and Historical Research. With a passion for research and education, they want to apply the skills learned in an academic setting to encourage social change and critical thinking.

Savanah is an active member of their community; she wants to make a positive change both locally and globally. They currently volunteer at Centre 507 in multiple roles, serving food to clients and encouraging harm reduction. She focuses on raising public awareness and action by sharing stories on the needs within her local community’s needs. Their passion for helping people is a major driving force in her professional pursuits.

Savanah has been writing recently for local papers including the Glebe Report, the Charleton and the Centre 507 newsletter. They want to focus on political, people-centered reporting to support and improve people’s lives. With a firm belief in the power of sharing information that encourages the public to engage in social justice, she hopes to provide people with well-researched journalism.
