Jack Rayner

Biography

Jack Rayner is a graduate of the final class of Humber Polytechnic’s Bachelor of Journalism program. His reporting has focused on protest movements, international affairs, and trade.

His experience includes work with The Globe and Mail, CBC, and BNN Bloomberg. His journalism career began with a student reporting trip to cover the New Hampshire presidential primaries. He later travelled to New York to report on the Columbia University encampment as part of The Globe and Mail’s coverage of the U.S. college-campus protest movement. He has since contributed reporting on the Democratic National Convention and the election of New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

At CBC, Jack was the first intern with the Visual Investigations Unit, where he contributed to stories using open-source investigative techniques. As an intern with The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business, he reported on trade tensions within the G7 following the election of U.S. President Donald Trump.

When he is not chasing stories or building data sheets, he enjoys spending time with his two huskies, Loki and Kyrie. He is also an avid supporter of the Oxford comma.
