Emma Siemens

Biography

Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Social Sciences from Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg.

Her time at CMU allowed her to pursue her lifelong love of writing in a variety of ways, from working as a Writing Fellow and assisting undergraduate students with their academic writing to completing a practicum placement as a Journalism Intern at the nationally distributed Canadian Mennonite Magazine.

Since graduating, Emma has continued writing by joining the team of editors at CMU Press, working as City Reporter for downtown Winnipeg newspaper The Uniter and working for the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba.

While she is passionate about storytelling of all kinds, Emma is particularly interested in writing about the current intersection of sociology and religion.

Aside from writing, she enjoys running, making music and travelling. Emma looks forward to learning more about the essentiality and responsibility of good journalism at Carleton this fall.
