Christina Spencer is the editorial pages editor of the Ottawa Citizen, where she both writes for and oversees the newspaper’s robust local and national opinion file. She is a past winner of National Newspaper Awards for Editorial Writing and International Reporting, and of the National Magazine Award for social issues writing. Her career has included local reporting, science writing, health, foreign affairs reporting and coverage of Parliament Hill. She has been a city editor, foreign editor, managing editor, national political editor and editor-in-chief. She holds an MA from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton, an MA in journalism from Western University and a BA in modern languages from the University of Toronto.
