Christina Spencer is the editorial pages editor of the Ottawa Citizen, where she both writes for and oversees the newspaper’s opinion file. She is the 2017 winner of the National Newspaper Award for Editorial Writing and is a past winner of a National Newspaper Award for International Reporting. Her career to-date has included local reporting, science writing, foreign affairs reporting and covering Parliament Hill. She has been a city editor, foreign editor, managing editor, national political editor and (her favourite job) editor in chief of the Kingston Whig-Standard. She holds an MA from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton.
