Emily Tower

Biography

From Burlington Ontario, Emily attended McMaster University and graduated with an Honours B.A in Political Science, and a specialization in Public Law and Judicial Studies in 2025. Throughout her undergraduate degree she engaged in numerous student leadership positions in McMaster’s Welcome Week, taking on roles in social media, operations, and fundraising. Serving as a Co-President of the McMaster Political Science Student Association, she led academic and professional development events, further developed the sense of community within the department, and contributed to the McMaster Political Science Undergraduate Digest writing on national and global current affairs.

Emily’s passion for investigative journalism and research deepened throughout her undergraduate studies. Her dedication to storytelling began at a young age through a love of reading and a curiosity about the world. Her experience in public-facing roles, and ability to lead teams reflect her commitment to information gathering, communication, and ethical inquiry. Emily is excited to contribute these experiences and skills to Carleton’s Master of Journalism program and grow further as a thoughtful and driven journalist.
