Current Program: MA in ALDS (TESL Stream)
I completed my undergraduate degree in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies (ALDS) at Carleton University, so it is the best choice to continue in their graduate program. Prior to returning to pursue a Master’s degree, I spent several years teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Beijing, China, instructing a diverse range of students from kindergarteners to business executives. The onset of COVID-19 and the accompanying frequent and often arbitrary policy changes piqued my interest in the intersection of education policies and language curricula, particularly in the adult education sector. I am increasingly drawn to understanding the impact of top-down decisions and their outcomes on adult education in Canada.
