Dear Allan,
Congratulations on the wonderful symposium you have put together. It looks fascinating, and it is with genuine regret that I must tell you that I cannot attend. I observe the Jewish Sabbath and am unable to attend for that reason. Otherwise, I would be delighted to go—not just because it is a FASS-sponsored activitiy, and not just because it is the first of the NEW SUN series, but because it looks so interesting.

Thank you… for such a wonderful day, AND for your honorarium—Iain [Phillips, Mohawk elder and flutist] and I enjoyed being a part of this very much! It was a very good conference, and one worth continuing. The guests were great! I knew many people there at the conference—some, I haven’t seen for a long time… so it was good to catch up! I had a great chat with John Medicine Horse Kelly—it was nice to have finally met him. I wish you and I could have had more time to talk—but I am sure we will in the future. THANK YOU for extending us the invitation… So there were chuckles today, new friendships created, sharing of arts and ideas, and a general rejuvenation of the spirit to remind us all that we are not alone wishing a world in harmony and of peace. Thank you once again for the highly successful symposium last Saturday. What a wonderful panel of speakers, who spoke from the heart, sharing their spirit of healing. I listened, I learned, I met people there I knew from the community—the energy in the room and the lobby was so positive, everyone was feeling connected, and its thanks to you that we all came together on this day… Oh yes, and the food was also so very good for the soul. I just wanted to send you this quiet note to tell you that I truly enjoyed my day attending the First Annual New Sun Symposium held on Saturday, March 2, 2002. It was a day full of laughter and ideas on coping and healing through the arts. I would be most interested to learn about any further conferences, symposiums or workshops that may be coming up.
