Areas of Research: Christina’s research considers how theatre presents a unique opportunity for museums to engage visitors interactively in history. Her thesis considers first-person theatrical performances at the Canadian War Museum entitled “Group Orientations.” Through examining the research materials and by interviewing interpreters and observing GOs in action, she hopes to offer some conclusions as to how theatre is an effective interpretive medium for presenting history in a national museum. This will be a unique contribution to the field of public history, where much work has been done on historical re-enactments, but not dramatic interpreters in galleries.
