What is your favourite thing about the program?

My favourite thing about the program has definitely been the professors! Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, and truly have made for some exceptional classes.

What will you miss the most?

I’ll miss the upper-year seminars the most – the discussions had with both profs and fellow students have truly left an indelible mark.

What is your favourite reading/book/text from the program?

One of the standout books for me is Making the Chinese Mexican by Grace Peña Delgado from Prof. Hogue’s course on the U.S. and its Borderlands. It completely shifted the way I think about place and the nation. And Peter E. Gordon and Samuel Moyn’s articles on historical analogy and comparison for Prof. Evan’s Populism and Authoritarianism course have also continued to stick with me (honestly, most of the readings from her course have!).
