Together with the entire Carleton Community, the International Student Services Office (ISSO) expresses our sincere condolences for all of those impacted by the devastating explosion in Beirut, and offers our support to Carleton community members who may be affected.

The far-reaching impacts of a devastating event such as this can be emotional and overwhelming. The staff at the International Student Services Office (ISSO) and Carleton University are here to offer any supports and connect our community with any resources that they may need in the wake of this event.

Students who require counselling support can contact:

  • Health and Counselling Services to make a virtual appointment with a member of their counselling team.
  • The Office of Student Affairs to make a virtual appointment with the Care and Support team.
  • Any students who require after hours support can contact Empower Me for free, confidential, 24/7 counselling support with qualified counselors in the community at 1-844-741-6389 (toll free).

Our thoughts continue to be with our international community and the large Lebanese diaspora in Canada and around the word during this difficult time. Please don’t hesitate to contact the ISSO for any additional guidance, support or referral to other resources on campus.
