As the tax season is approaching, there are a variety of resources available to help international students understand filing taxes. 

International Student Connect

International Student Connect is a provincially-funded program that provides relevant resources for international students and their families and is free for students to use.

International Student Connect’s ‘Understanding Ontario’s Personal Income Tax, Credits, and Benefits for International Students’ workshop will take place throughout March and April . The workshop conducted by Jeremy Bertrand, Senior Program Advisory Specialist in the Ontario Ministry of Finance and representatives from the CRA.

Additional Resources

The ISSO’s Filing Taxes page provides information on different ways you can complete your return. This includes details on the Sprott Tax Students’ Association (STSA) virtual Tax Clinic and helpful tutorials. Please note, the Tax Clinic cannot be used by first-time tax filers to file their taxes, however, all students can ask questions to their knowledgeable team.
