Basic Algebra – Grade 7 & 8*
*For younger students, this refers to the level of mathematics and not to the actual age.
The course will cover the following topics:
-
- algebraic expressions
- systems of equations
- sequences and series
- polynomials
- quadratic equations
- systems of linear inequalities
Basic Algebra is highly recommended before taking more advanced courses including Competitive Math I and II. Students with the top performance in Basic Algebra will automatically qualify for Competitive Math I.

The course will run from September 24th, 2025 to April 2026 on Wednesdays 6:00-7:30pm (with a break in December) in Room 4351 Herzberg Laboratories Building
