Rohit Samaroo is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at Carleton University, working under the supervision of Dr. Scott Bennett. He has completed comprehensive examinations in Public Policy and Administration, and Gender and Diversity. His research explores new ways of understanding bureaucratic performance in policy implementation.
Across the globe, public bureaucracies are tasked with the important responsibility of ensuring that the policies of elected governments are implemented effectively and inclusively. Rohit’s research contributes to our understanding of how well public administration in Canada has demonstrated excellence in achieving policy goals over the past 25 years.
Rohit holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto and York University respectively. Prior to entering the PhD program, he worked in the federal government of Canada as an analyst and executive in areas of performance metrics, program evaluation, human resource management and transportation policy.
