Tim has taught/supervised in many countries for over five decades, including two decades at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, University of Zambia, University of Zimbabwe, Rhodes, Stellenbosch University and University of the Western Cape in South Africa, Aalborg University in Denmark, Institute for Commonwealth Studies in London, University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, and Royal Roads University and Carleton University in Canada.
He holds a trio of degrees from Sussex University (UK), Makerere University (Uganda), and Princeton, and an honorary degree from St. Andrews in Scotland. With others he coedited the Palgrave Handbook of Contemporary International Political Economy which has been downloaded 150 00 times since 2019.
He continues to supervise and mentor PhDs at the University of Massachusetts Boston, University of Nairobi and University of Ghana and to be an External Examiner in North America, Africa and Europe. He edits book series for Palgrave/Springer (International Political Economy) and Routledge (New Regionalisms).
