The Department of Systems and Computer Engineering congratulates John W. Chinneck, Distinguished Research Professor, on being named a 2025 INFORMS Fellow. This recognition, awarded by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), is one of the highest professional honours in operations research, analytics, and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Chinneck is recognized for his algorithmic contributions to optimization, including the development of essential computational tools to diagnose and resolve infeasible models, as well as for his sustained service to the operations research community.
INFORMS, the world’s largest association for professionals and students in operations research, analytics, AI, and data science, selected only 12 distinguished leaders worldwide as 2025 Fellows. Collectively, this year’s honorees represent trailblazing achievements in academia and industry, with advancements spanning artificial intelligence, supply chain resilience, clean energy, healthcare, and transportation systems.
