Girls SySTEM Mentorship Seeking STEM Mentors in Eastern Ontario
Mentor applications are open until September 30, 2026.
Girls SySTEM Mentorship, a Canadian non-profit organization working to bridge the gender gap in STEM, is seeking women in STEM located in the Eastern Ontario region to serve as mentors for the 2026–2027 program year.
The program pairs self-identifying young women in Grades 9–12 with professional mentors from a diverse range of STEM fields, providing students with encouragement, guidance, and first-hand insight into STEM careers.
More than 120 students have applied to participate as mentees this year, and additional mentors are needed to support the growing program.
Become a Mentor
Mentors are asked to commit approximately 1–2 hours per month, primarily through virtual meetings. The program is hybrid, with both virtual and in-person opportunities available.
Following the application process, mentors are paired with a mentee based on shared academic interests and goals, hobbies, and overall compatibility. Mentors are also required to provide a police record check after completing an application.
Application deadline: September 30, 2026
