Hi Everyone,
I had a walkaround with the renovation team this morning, and here are a few IMPORTANT items of relevance:
Whiteboards / Glass boards / Bulletin Boards
——————————————–
All these boards will be removed from office and lab walls for the project and will be reinstalled at the end after the painting is completed.
IMPORTANT: FMP is willing to relocate white boards to temporary offices if it is particularly important. Obviously, it will be difficult to schedule installing boards in everyone’s temporary office / lab. However, if you do really need a board moved to your temporary office and lab, let us know, we will try to make it happen. It is NOT recommended that glass boards be installed temporarily as they are fragile, and the more they get moved reinstalled, the greater the risk of them being damaged.
Currently, I am aware that:
– CHORUS / SPIRIL would like a whiteboard moved to their HCI 2110 lab
– Darryl would like a white board moved from his old office to DT 902
IMPORTANT: There will be a day or two selected at the END of the renovation (August) when the FMP team will meet with every office / lab owner to confirm where you want your boards reinstalled. This will be your opportunity to change the location of any of these boards if you wish. If you cannot make it on that specific day, then you can contact a colleague or a member of the tech support team, and we can do our best to convey your preferences. Also, if you can get into the space after the painting, you can mark the preferred locations on the walls using painter’s tape.
Blinds
——
Office / lab owners do not need to remove blinds. Some blinds will be replaced with new blinds. For those offices/labs that already have the newer style blinds, they will be removed for the painting and then reinstalled.
Floor access restricted on Monday
———————————
As announced, the floor will not be accessible on Monday AM (6:00 AM, or whenever the contractor arrives). There is a mechanism for the tech staff to access the space for the server removal on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. There are also arrangements made with a couple occupants that have time restrictions and need to move final things on Monday. If you remember something you forgot to grab from an office, get it this weekend or let the tech support team know and we can get it for you.
Those are the updates for now. Thanks to everyone for the Herculean job this week clearing almost everything out. The FMP team was very appreciative of the progress.
