Marc Kielburger was awarded the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, at the 2 p.m. ceremony on Wednesday, June 6, “in recognition of exemplary leadership in the promotion of rights of the child and promotion of ethical living and social responsibility.”

Mark Kielburger is the co-founder, along with his brother Craig, of Free The Children, an international organization that delivers innovative programming to youth internationally. Marc is also the co-founder and co-CEO of Me to We, which provides people with better choices for a better world.

7 He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University, completing a degree in international relations and won a coveted Rhodes Scholarship and went on to complete a law degree at Oxford University. Marc has
received six honorary degrees for his work in the field of education and human rights. Along with his brother Craig, Marc writes Global Voices, a weekly column about pressing issues of our time.

Marc is also a New York Times bestselling author who has written seven books, including his latest called Living Me to We: The Guide for Socially Conscience Canadians. He is the recipient of many honours, including the Order of Canada and he was selected by the World Economic Forum as one of 250 Young Global Leaders.
