Mike Murphy (ESLA Coordinator) collaborated with a teacher and his ESL class at Glebe Collegiate Institute, and introduced the students to basic corpus linguistics tools. The students used these tools to analyze the linguistic forms and thematic content of an Indigenous memoir that they are reading as part of their curriculum.

For their visit to Carleton, the ESL students are preparing projects in which they apply the corpus methods they have learned to a folk tale or legend from a culture that they identify with.

Drop by the Richcraft Hall Atrium from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17 to check out their posters and learn more about their projects.
