What is a virtual career fair?

A virtual career fair is an online recruitment event in which employers can meet job seekers in a virtual environment using video calls, chats, or teleconferencing to share information about their organization, promote job openings, and screen candidates.

What does hosting a booth at a virtual career fair look like?

  • Your organization will be given a customizable virtual booth where you can post information about your company, share insight about your application and hiring processes, introduce your recruiter(s), link to your current full-time, new grad, and co-op opportunities, etc.

How do students attend the virtual fairs?

  • Virtual fairs are open to Carleton University students and alumni only. Once registrants have created a profile, they can enter the fair website and browse booths by company name. If a student is interested in learning more about your organization and current opportunities, they can view your company booth and chat one-on-one with your recruiter(s) through text chat, phone or video call on the day of the event.

  • Carleton’s virtual career fairs will be hosted using an online career fair platform called Brazen.

Is there a deadline to register for the fair?

  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to register as soon as possible to ensure a booth at the fair. Visit our Recruitment Options website or contact CareerFair@carleton.ca

How will the fair be marketed to students?

  • The virtual career fairs will be promoted to students through event listings on several Carleton event calendars and the Carleton Mobile App, posts in student, staff, and faculty newsletters, email campaigns to targeted students and academic departments, as well as shared widely on Career Services’ social media channels.

I am looking to promote my graduate school programs; can I attend the career fair?

  • Our Career Fairs are for organizations that are looking to recruit for full-time, part-time, summer, and co-op positions. If you are interested in promoting your programs to Carleton students, you can host a Grad School Information Session.
