A New Sustainability Strategy for Carleton

Facilities Management and Planning is coordinating a series of facilitated conversations to better inform our next Sustainability Strategy. The product of these discussions will help inform a new collaborative Sustainability Strategic Plan to be released in 2019. While lots continues to be done, the existing plan has been sunset and the update on this can be found at: Sustainability Strategy Update 2017_18

Students, staff, faculty and community members are encouraged to participate in this consultation process. You can contribute by answering three key questions on what you want sustainability to look like on our campus by attending themed workshops to provide greater input or both.

This Campus Conversation Kit (see below) provides everyone the opportunity to contribute to sustainability planning at Carleton University and asks three questions. Please take the time to read through the Sustainability Campus Conversation Kit before answering the questions below.

Your Vision for a Sustainable Campus

Fast forward to 2025 on campus and our new Sustainability Plan for Carleton has now been implemented. What do you see around you? What are people doing differently? What processes or practices now exist? How are people working differently? How is Sustainability now viewed?
What is stopping us from achieving our vision for Sustainability at Carleton University? What challenges may we face in creating a sustainable future? What are the obstacles; staffing, costs, engagement etc, do you foresee?
What can we do to address the challenges and obstacles identified and achieve our vision? What strategies could be used to improve our sustainability performance in this area?
