RSVP form for Doug King Celebration of Life

This event is planned for the lawn in front of the Social Science Research Building, across University Drive from the Rideau River.  This annotated campus map highlights this location.  There is limited pay-and-display parking on University Avenue right in front of the venue; the next closest parking lot is P1 off Library Road.  Wheelchair parking is available on the south side of Loeb, close to the venue, but the relevant permits would need to be obtained with the cooperation of DGES prior to the event (choose the accommodations request option in the form below to initiate such communication, or email chair_geography@carleton.ca at any time).

More details may be added to this page as they become available, but we will also email anyone already registered at the time of such updates.

General inquiries about this event can be sent to Natalie.Pressburger@carleton.ca

Updates:

Weather

Due to constraints on what facilities we can access on campus, this is an outdoor event with no backup.  Umbrellas are recommended.  However, we have secured a large tent and chairs, so we hope to be fairly well protected from “normal” rain (or sun!).

Public Health

Anyone with symptoms of illness potentially linked to COVID-19 are asked not to come to campus.  If, within 10 days after the event, attendees suspect they have symptoms potentially linked to COVID-19, have gone for a COVID-19 test, have received a positive COVID-19 result, or have been asked to self-isolate by public health officials, they are to notify Conference Services immediately through Kendra Reay,  Kendra.Reay@carleton.ca.

Physical distancing is recommended whenever possible.  On the recommendation of Ottawa Public Health, Carleton is maintaining the mandatory COVID-19 Mask Policy meaning that masks must be worn in all university buildings. This applies to our event if you need to access the washroom facilities, so please arrive prepared for that.
