Professor Rod Phillips gave a paper at the “Living the French Revolution” symposium at the University of Melbourne, in Melbourne, Australia, 9-10 June.  The symposium was held to honour Professor Peter McPhee, one of the world’s leading historians of the Revolution. It was attended by historians from France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.

Rod gave a paper on the drive to guarantee wine quality and safety during the Revolution, an early example of attempts to protect consumer rights.
