My doctoral research was an investigation into the processes, refusals, and limitations of political recognition and official commemorations for past injustices and community grievances in a settler state. My postdoctoral research (2024 – 2026) builds upon this work and methodology to examine the legibility of grief in public history co-hosted by Concordia University’s Thinking Through the Museum and the School for Community and Public Affairs. Since 2022, I have been the Project Manager for The Disaster Lab, a historical research project that explores the history of disasters and interrogates the role of migration and citizenship in how state and civil society actors have responded in times of strife.
