What is your favourite thing about the program?
My favorite part of the history program was engaging with my cohort and learning about their specific areas of study. I love history and there is not nearly enough time to learn about the many civilizations, eras and peoples of the world but through the incredibly diverse knowledge base of my cohort, I was able to learn that much more.
What will you miss the most?
I will miss being able to engage with the faculty and my cohort through a number of different experiences that ranged from visiting spaces of local public memory to analyzing artifacts at the many museums around Ottawa.
What is your favourite reading/book/text from the program?
My favorite book from my program would be European Nations: Explaining their Formation by Hroch Miroslav. His book helped me understand the different types of nation building across Western and Eastern Europe and how those identities are reflected today. This was crucial in my examination of why the internet is being used to promote nationalism across Europe today.
What’s next for you?
As of now, I will be finishing my contract at the Science and Technology Museum in July and then I will attend law school in the Fall!
