Exam season is approaching and Carleton University has created a series of resources to help international students overcome challenges during the exam period – whether living in or outside of Canada. Scheduling and Examination Services (SES) and Information Technology Services have a number of resources that offer 24/7 support to students that might encounter technical difficulties in accessing, writing, or submitting upcoming exams.

Prior to The Exam Period

Students are encouraged to prepare for exams by reviewing the COVID-19 FAQ page for Frequently Asked Questions about examinations. Questions addressed include:

  • What to do if there is an infrastructure failure (power outage, internet failure) during an exam
  • Exam accommodations based on time zone

SES is available to answer any questions you may have about final exams in the virtual campus and can be reached by phone at: 613-520-2600 ext: 1571 on Monday to Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm (ET), or by email at onlineexams@carleton.ca.

During The Scheduled Exam Period

SES will be operating an emergency support line for in-class tests and midterms from Monday to Friday (and weekends when applicable), 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time).

During formally scheduled exam periods, the emergency exam support line will operate when exams are running for any technical difficulties experienced during an exam.
