Christina Harrison Baird, Instructor in the Department of Law and Legal Studies, is Director of Project imPACT, which recently received $200,000 from Status of Women Canada to conduct a 2-year project on trafficking of women and girls for sexual exploitation in the community of Ottawa.

Local non-governmental organization PACT-Ottawa (Persons Against the Crime of Trafficking in Humans) will conduct a local safety audit, report the findings, develop a community plan and implement a priority project to prevent human trafficking.

“Our organization is committed to end the victimization of women and girls that results from the crime of human trafficking,” said Ms. Christina Harrison Baird, Director of Project imPACT for PACT-Ottawa. “We are pleased to partner with Status of Women Canada and local agencies on this timely project, which will focus on vulnerable girls and young women from varied socio-economic backgrounds.”
