Deniz Konuk, PhD Candidate in Legal Studies, has won a competitive DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) One-Year Grant for Doctoral Candidates for 2020-2021. Deniz’s PhD research will examine the role of audio-visual evidence in trials for police violence in Turkey and the US. She is investigating how audio-visual recordings are interpreted and contested as evidence, how they stir emotions, and how they shape understandings of justice. During her DAAD Fellowship year, she will be working with Professor Susanne Krasmann (University of Hamburg).
Congratulations Deniz!
