Ravens for Innocence: An Evening with Jamie Nelson

Thursday, November 12, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Join Ravens for Innocence for an evening with Jamie Nelson, who was wrongfully convicted of sexual assault in 1996 and spent nearly three years in prison before being acquitted by the Ontario Court of Appeal in 2001.

Jamie will share his personal experience navigating the criminal justice system, his fight to clear his name, and the challenges of rebuilding his life following his acquittal.

The event will also feature a Q&A session, providing attendees with an opportunity to engage in a discussion about wrongful convictions, the consequences of miscarriages of justice, and the importance of accountability within the legal system.

This event is part of the work of Ravens for Innocence, Carleton University’s chapter of Youth for Innocence Canada, a student-led initiative dedicated to raising awareness about wrongful convictions and encouraging students to engage critically with issues of justice and legal reform.

All are welcome to attend!
