Narges Qadirli

PhD Candidate (Legal Studies)

Narges is a PhD candidate in Law and Legal Studies at Carleton University. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Arts (MA) in International Law.

Her doctoral research centres on civilian protection in armed conflicts, with particular focus on civilian injuries caused by air warfare. She examines how harm resulting from airstrikes is addressed within legal and institutional frameworks and how injury, disability, psychological trauma, and long-term caregiving shape the lives of affected individuals and communities.

In addition to her research, she works as a Research Assistant on an SSHRC-funded project and has been a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Law and Legal Studies since 2022. Her experience at Carleton University also includes serving on the Executive Committee of the Graduate Law and Legal Studies Association and the Council of the Graduate Students’ Association.
