Greenaway, author, qualified navigator, highly decorated retired Brigadier-General in the Canadian Armed Forces, and Member of the Order of Canada, was awarded the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, at the 12:30 p.m. ceremony on Thursday, June 10, “in recognition of outstanding contributions to Arctic navigation and promoting the geopolitical importance of Canada as a circumpolar nation.”
