Congratulations to Kat Klassen, an MA student in ALDS, on winning one of this year’s Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards (2018-2019) for her work with students in Dr. Ai Taniguchi’s LING 2005 (Linguistic Analysis) course.
Presented by the EDC, this award celebrates the contributions and support Teaching Assistants provide to undergraduate programs, as well as their roles in establishing a positive learning environment and in implementing innovative teaching practices.
According to Samantha Shortt of the EDC, the Awards Committee was impressed with the strength and versatility of this year’s nominations:
“We received a large number of highly competitive nominations this year, but could only recognize five winners. Based on the information included in multiple nomination letters and supporting documents, the committee unanimously agreed to recognize Kat’s dedication, passion, and excellence in teaching.”
