Current Program: MA in ALDS
I am an MA student in ALDS. Following in the footsteps of queer scholars before me, I am passionate about activism and visibility through research. My research interests center lesbian identity, and the gender diversity present in the queer community. I believe that language helps to make us who we are.
I completed my BA(hons) at the University of Manitoba, conducting my undergraduate research under the supervision of Dr. Verónica Loureiro-Rodríguez, where we looked at terms of address and identity amongst queer women. I plan to continue my research looking into the ways in which queer women define themselves through discourse lifelong.
I am focused on maintaining an interdisciplinary approach to the study of language, identity, and power and I’m thrilled to do it here at Carleton University.
