Professor Rod Phillips gave a paper at the 21st George Rudé Seminar in French History and Civilization at the Australian National University (Canberra) in July.  His paper, on aspects of the wine trade in 18th-century Burgundy, is part of a book he is writing on the history of burgundy (wine).

As one of the founding members of the Seminar — the first meeting of which took place in 1978, 40 years ago — Professor Phillips also participated in a panel that discussed the history of French History in Australia and New Zealand.
