The Queer Art of History book coverCongratulations to History Professor Jen Evans for winning the DAAD/GSA Prize for her book, The Queer Art of History

The DAAD/GSA Prize for the Best Book in Literature and Cultural Studies is funded through the North American office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), awarded annually by a GSA committee. The winner receives the prize during the banquet of the GSA Annual Conference.

“The Queer Art of History is a major contribution to what we know and how we know it. In this methodologically innovative book blending social and cultural history, Jennifer Evans offers a new view of postwar German history from the vantage point of a notion of queerness as kinship, not identity. Seeing queerness as “a set of relations” allows Evans to reveal more fully the varied intellectual, emotional, social and political stakes of living queer lives.”
