- In-person event

When research opportunity knocks, you need to have a CV that is up to date and presents you in the best possible light. But how do you structure, format, and present your academic CV? Which information should be included, and where does it go? If you are working on an academic career, how can you use your CV for understanding your strengths and decide what to focus on?
In this workshop, we will talk about how to construct your academic CV, the differences between professional resumes and CVs, and strategies for presenting your strengths and accomplishments on your CV. Rather than wondering how many items in which category you “should” have on your CV, we focus on understanding the CV as a tool for presenting the work that you have been doing.
If you have a CV, please bring it along. We will circulate sample CVs from former graduate students and discuss them.
