Contract Instructor Senate Vacancy

The Carleton University Senate is calling for nominations to fill one vacancy for a Contract Instructor to serve on Senate. Click here to learn more about Senate and the role of a Senator.

The position is open to Contract Instructors at Carleton University who satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

  • They have taught at least 1.5 credits (cumulative) at Carleton University in the past two years (i.e. from September 1, 2021, to August 31, 2023)
  • They are teaching at least 0.5 credits at Carleton University for the 2023-24 academic year.

Note that retired academic staff, and professional librarians who are/were teaching under contract are not eligible for these positions.

The term of service is three years and will expire on June 30, 2026.  Note that to maintain their position on Senate, Contract Instructors must continue to teach at least 0.5 credits in each academic year of service.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 8, 2023, at 4 pm. Elections will be held online the week of September 11th, and results will be communicated by Thursday, September 14, 2023.
