Call for Faculty

The nomination period for faculty members to serve on Senate was on March 1, 2024, and has now concluded. However applications are still accepted for a few vacancies:
Please note that positions are open to full-time faculty members at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor level.

Vacancies are outlined below and will be filled on a first-come first-served basis, provided the nominee meets eligibility requirements:

  • Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences – 5 vacancies
  • Faculty of Science – 3 vacancies

Timeline

February 1, 2024: Call for Expressions of Interest begins
March 1, 2024: Deadline for Faculty expressions of interest (4pm)
March 11-12, 2024: Faculty Election Period
March 14, 2024: Candidates are notified of the election outcomes/post on web
April 5, 2024: Senate meeting – member ratifications
April 8, 2024: Announcement in Inside Senate

Application

Candidates may put their own name forward or they can be nominated by another faculty member. All nominations must include the support of three other faculty members. Supporting faculty must send a statement confirming their support of the candidate by email to Kathy McKinley, Assistant University Secretary, for the nomination to be complete.
