Call for Undergraduate Students
Nominations for undergraduate students to serve on Senate for a one-year term, beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025 were accepted till March 1, 2024. However a few vacancies remain as of March 4 and will be filled on a first-come first-served basis, provided the nominee meets eligibility requirements:

Timeline
February 1, 2024: | Call for Expressions of Interest begins |
March 1, 2024: | Deadline for expressions of interest (4pm) |
March 11-12, 2024: | Faculty Election Period |
March 14, 2024: | Candidates are notified of the election outcomes/post on web |
April 5, 2024: | Senate meeting – member ratifications |
April 8, 2024: | Announcement in Inside Senate |
After March 3, vacancies will be filled on a first-come first-served basis, provided that the candidate meets eligibility requirements and completes the nomination form in its entirety.
Eligibility Requirements
Students elected to Senate must meet the following requirements:
- Previous academic governance experience at the faculty or department level at Carleton University
- Be registered at the university in an undergraduate program
- Be registered in at least one course in each of the Fall and Winter terms in the academic year when they were elected and during their period of service
- Have completed successfully at least 4.0 credits prior to service
- Maintain the academic status of “Eligible to Continue” throughout their period of service
- If any of these requirements are not satisfied during the term of service, the student must resign from this position.
