EU Issues Conference for High School Students 2025

The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at the Centre for European Studies is hosting a one-day conference for high school students at Carleton University. The conference will focus on important topics and issues relating to the European Union (EU).
Here is a list of the topics:
- BREAKING NEWS! Media Frenzy & Far-right Politics Game
- The Historical Background and Current Implications of EU Membership Talks in the South Caucasus
- Fortress Europe? The EU’s Defence Industry and Security Challenges
- Allies in Uncertainty: Canada-EU Relations in the Trump Era
- War in Ukraine
- The European Union in Crisis Mode: Energy Policy in Wartime
Students will have the opportunity to engage with a keynote speaker in the morning and attend a choice of three interactive workshops throughout the day presented by graduate students at Carleton University. Students studying history, politics, world issues, economics, law, social sciences, and related courses are encouraged to join the conference.
