One thing I love about running workshops is getting the chance to deepen students’ understanding of a subject that I am passionate about. I get to help students gain confidence in their abilities, reach their academic goals, and become familiar with the university experience. I don’t think there’s a job quite like being an ESP facilitator, and the skills I have taken away have helped guide me in becoming a better leader and a better student.

Running ESP workshops helped me improve my confidence in leading learning sessions. By following a similar format to the workshop plan, I was also able to present my proposal more clearly, establish a safe(r) space with ground rules, and elicit feedback from my coworkers.
